About Us

So what the heck is this 'trip' about anyway?

Dean, Devin and Stephen. Three guys from varied backgrounds looking for answers. That is probably the most basic explanation we can give for this 'trip'. To be honest, we have no idea what this really is or the potential it may have in store for us. But when faced with a kind of anxious insecurity about the future, we couldn't just sit still. And so 'The Longest Trip' was born.

Why is the site 'beta'?

Part of the process of figuring out life is figuring out how to describe it to the world. So, this site is being launched in this beta version (it's actually the fourth design already). The idea is that it will be changed again and again (and again) until we get it right. Or at least settle on a version that would be graduated to alpha status. And then changed again and again … well, you get the idea.

Who Are The Trippers?

Dean Arrindell
Dean's love of politics, news, pop culture, and where they intersect, developed during the decade he worked in morning TV news. Based in New York City, Dean hopes his journey on The Longest Trip introduces him to more people and places at home and around the world.

Devin Pratt
Originally from rural Maryland, Devin has slowly become acclimated to New York City life (however, he's still uncomfortable with the intimacy of the morning subway commute). When not boring people with his endless classic rock factoids, Devin spends most of his time searching for the perfect falafel, working as a writer/editor, and trying to figure out a way to meet Keith Richards.

Stephen Bailey
Born in Hoboken, NJ and raised just a few miles up the road in a town called Fairview, Stephen has always lived in the shadows of the Manhattan skyline. After a lifetime of misadventures and disappointments, he's decided it's time to move on. However, there's one catch … He doesn't actually want to live anywhere else. How will he resolve this conundrum? Well, that is what his 'trip' will determine.
