Margaret and Helen

Our Featured Trippers this time around are very special. At 82 years old, Helen was convinced by her grandson to start a blog. This was so she could keep in touch Margaret, her friend of 60 years, who had moved from their hometown in Texas to Maine. Her grandson grew up listening to Helen laughing with her best friend Margaret on the phone. They were never at a loss for words and there stories were priceless.

We got a few scary emails when I first wrote about Sarah Palin so my grandson told me to change our last names on the web page blog. Philpot was my grandmother’s maiden name and Schmechtman is actually the name of a bird Margaret keeps as a pet. That bird shits on everything, but she loves him.
