Dolphins Have Sex for Fun

I decided to skip the snorkeling portion of the outing. Having been sick and the water's frigid tempeture seemed good enough reasons to stay on the boat. A few brave souls jumped in and stayed in. Most others came right back out.

I wasn't fully immune to the cold of the sea. The trip back thru the channel was fast and against the wind causing a deluge. Helpful tip … have a rain poncho handy. While my hooded sweatshirt kept me warm for most of the trip, it was useless in it's new soaked-sponge state at this point.

This was a remarkable experience and I'm left with an impression of this creature that is one of giddy respect. They laugh like children but can throw a human body clear out of the water. They sleep with one eye open (literally) and have learned to adapt to an environment more and more inundated by civilization. From tiny boats filled with gawkers to cruise ships that tower over the island.

If you visit this place, treat them with that same giddy respect. They are cute. They are majestic. They are wild. They are not what you've seen at Sea World.
