Oh Good, You Got Sharky

At that moment I admit to freaking out just a little. I thought, "Oh shit! I'm gonna be the cause of this plane careening to a fiery heap on the ground!" Thankfully — and obviously since I am typing this — that did not happen.

I looked out of the window and past the propeller of the offbeat little 1982 Cessna 402C Utililiner and thought of how my life could change from that very moment.

I've never been much of a risk taker. I don't see myself skydiving or bungee jumping anytime soon. I am, in the end, scared to death of anything that could kill me. But to do something like this — essentially safe but completely outside of my comfort zone — has proven to be a revelation of sorts.

Risk taking does not have to mean death defying. It just has to pump the blood and adrenaline and shake the knees. That can mean different things to different people. For me it means I need to stop running my life based on what ifs and fears and start living a little more in each moment.

Love, life, career. All of it has been a jumble for me and maybe now I can let go a little more in order to see a little more clearly.

Thanks Sharky!
